I agree with you that determinism is a depressing idea and robs each person of moral responsibility. However, I've never understood the theistic assertion that just because this "feels" absurd, it is therefore false. If the evidence points in that direction... how can our feelings insist they know better?

Suffering dont have any good for it. When you said people watch horror movies to see people suffer, I think you dont understand why people are watching horror movies. people watch horror movies because they want to get scared or are like me they like creppy things.

Why do Christians say sexuality is a choice? people dont choose what they are attracted to. I rarely take things on faith, i need evidence, but one of of the key factor why I dont want to be in christianity and many other religions is their view on LGBT+ people. I am bisexual, so this effects me and alot of people i know.

some young earth creationists can have a little bit of ignorance when they put down beliefs of the Bible not being interpreted literally and can actually insult beliefs of the earth being 4.5 billion years old. that annoys me because they are not basing it on any evidence; they have no proof certain things in the Bible are not meant to be metaphorical or symbolic. thank you for giving an intelligent and clear explanation of the Bible and maybe more people will have an open mind and see maybe how they can interpret it. thank you for the video this is how I've always seen it

Monophysitism is not used by many Eastern orthodox churches. They use Miaphysite theology. It was way before Dyophysite or Diaphysite theologies!

this is great explanation, in my country, the religious priests are called "Monk priests" and they live in monasteries and report to their monastery "president" (for a lack of a better word) while Diocesan priests are called "Parish priests", when they are ordained, they are immediately assigned an altar (parish) to server, they usually live in the parish that they are currently serving and they remain within the boundaries of their Bishop's authority.

1. Scientific materialism: no evidence for spiritual beings or forces, I completely agree, and this is spot on why many atheists including myself don't believe. However, we haven't concluded that there is nothing to life but the physical world, it's just that we will start believing at the exact point that we have solid evidence for it. That time is not today. We think it's just a matter of time that stuff we don't know will be explained by natural means because that is what has happened 100% of the time with everything we do know. It would be irrational to suggest something would explain something we don't know such as consciousness is supernatural when that has never been a valid explanation for anything we have discovered. Ok we are bringing up Hitler now, which tells me this theist hasn't even looked into morality. 2. It's entertaining that "being rational" is a threat to the faith. That alone should be a red flag. "The way that we combat the rationalist isn't by reasoned argument". Wow. 3. Secularism is the only thing we have evidence for. No evidence for the supernatural. Politics isn't our religion, that's what religious people say to take atheists down to their level. I won't worship politics. It is rational that if this is the only world we have, we'd work to make it better. More faceless claims after this.

So in the end, it is not about treating LGBTQ folks with kindness for goodness sake, but making sure the pews are filled. Can you be a Priest that STRICTLY only gives confession to other people anointed priesthood and can only give to a selected few the sacrament of marriage AND perform other sacraments only in case of Overpowering Need and be able to ordain priests without being their superior but simply with special authority, analogous to papal infallibility but for anointing priests, but with steps that act as the differentiation between which rank he needs within the Church? This is awesome. The only thing I'd add is the history of the priesthood. The offices of Episkopos (Bishop), Presbuteros (Priest), and Diakonos (Decon) goes back to the time of the Apostles. The Apostles were the first Episkopos, which in the bible usually gets translated as "overseer" As we see on the beginning of Acts chapter 6 this is how Bishops were Ordained. And we see through documented history that this is how all Bishops have been Ordained for over 2000 years by another Bishop. So every Bishop in the Catholic and Orthodox Churches are successors of the Apostles. As far as the history of the Franciscan Order, Fr. Casey in this video would be a much better person to explain. As much as I'd like to be a Secular Franciscan, I'm currently not available on Tuesday evenings to attend the Franciscan meetings.
